Balbisiana is a species with a round, bulbous base and flat, thin and light green leaves which come out from the center. With age, the leaves grow quite long and will cascade down the sides of the plant. Balbisiana produce beautiful deep red blooms. As a comparison, we would say that they are similar to a Bulbosa plant but with less rigidity in their leaves. These are 9-12 inch beauties and are endemic throughout Central America, Northern South America and the Caribbean.

If you are concerned about daytime temperatures below freezing, and you are not home when mail is delivered, please have the plants shipped to where you are located during the day (your place of work or school).
