Our Second School in Cantón San José, Guatemala is Almost Done!

We are pleased to announce that our second Pencils of Promise school located in the  Cantón San José community within the Boca Costa region of Guatemala is near completion! They began preparing for the build back in March of 2020, however, due to Covid-19, there were many delays with personnel and materials. Fortunately, they were able to break ground in April of 2021 and are in the home stretch of construction. Below are some progress photos from PoP!

Pouring concrete to create a strong foundation that will serve many generations of children. Pencils of Promise projects that, thanks to the partnership of Air Plant Supply Co., we have impacted 561 students over the lifetime of this school!

The Cantón San José community is devoted to providing a valuable education to its students, and will contribute 20 percent of the resources and labor required for construction.

We can start to envision all of the learning and growing that will happen here!
